The small wagon slowed to a stop as Krag Kennewick III gently pulled back on the reins. He swelled with pride as he looked over the small piece of land. It wasn’t much, but he saw vast potential, where others just saw an old shack and a patch of dirt.
Krag knew that with the right recipe, perseverance and innovation, the small hamlet of Toptex would love his stew. After tilling, conditioning, months of sleepless nights, and maybe just a little blood, sweat, and tears, his land was finally starting to take shape. He was almost ready to unveil his stew to the world.
The carrots were the perfect size, and people would be shocked by the layers of purple he was able to magically infuse into the potatoes. Krag had seen the small creature pass by his little farm, almost routinely these last few weeks, and invited him to come talk and share company as Krag worked his garden. Each day they would talk just a bit more, as Krag became more and more excited about being able to share his stew with all the townsfolk, he decided to share some samples with the little kobold.
Krag was uncertain of the new herbs that Liakhim had suggested be added to the stew, even if they were a town favorite, he just wasn’t sure they fit his vision of the finished product Krag had been trying to create. But Krag believed Liakhim to be his friend and that his desire to help his stew be a success was genuine, so off he went into the forest to find the special local herb.
